The problem

In Culture Craft's onboarding process, a critical challenge arises from the invisibility of newly onboarded team members. Frequently, they go unnoticed by their colleagues, resulting in their exclusion from crucial discussions and engagements. This invisibility creates a barrier to their integration within the team, thus obstructing collaborative efforts and impeding knowledge exchange. Consequently, the existing onboarding strategies fall short in effectively assimilating new hires, ultimately undermining overall productivity and team cohesion.

Goals

The goal of the instructional design was to enhance the onboarding process at Culture Craft to ensure a more successful integration of new team members. Specifically, the design aims to increase visibility.

In that way, the goal was to familiarize existing team members with the backgrounds, roles, and interests of the new team members.

The solution

The solution was the development of an interactive newsletter. This newsletter serves as a platform to introduce new team members to the existing team in a comprehensive and engaging manner.

Each new team member's profile is featured in the newsletter, including details such as their role within the team, age, and some of their hobbies or interests. This ensures that existing team members have a clear understanding of who the newcomers are and what they bring to the team.

By including information about hobbies and interests, the newsletter encourages team members to find common ground with the newcomers. This can spark conversations and connections based on shared interests, helping to build rapport and camaraderie within the team.
